Out of the TC Boyle stories that we have read so far I would have to say that my favorite is going to be “Green Hell”. I was not the best story I have ever read but it made it a little easier on me. The story did a pretty good job of holding my attention. The story line that it followed was more down my alley. I like action and suspense and “Green Hell” had both of those. Everything from the air plane crash and the characters getting their heads cut off made the story a lot more interesting for me. I would not have minded if the story had a little more action and substance but overall it was not that bad. I also would have liked for the characters to actually have names instead of just nick names that the narrator gave to them, which was kind of annoying. My least favorite story would have to be “Big Game” or “Modern Love”. Both of these stories were just too far out for me. The characters in “Big Game” really just annoyed me to death and made the story really difficult to read and enjoy. And “Modern Love” is just too weird for me, it was really easy to read and follow but the story line was crazy. That woman was freaking weird and really need to go to some therapy, I do not know how that guy put up with that and was supposedly so in love with her. I guess people are into all different kinds of things. The Boyle stories are definitely different than anything I have ever read before. Although they are strange and a little weird they are a lot easier to read. I absolutely hate reading all together so I like anything that makes the proses easier on me. I would rather have to read a Boyle story than a Shakespeare play. I used to hate having to read those in high school. Most of the time I would not even read it at all which is probably why I did not do too well on the tests.
