This English class has not been too different from any other English class I have taken. This class was definitely a lot more enjoyable than any others I have been in and I actually didnít mind going to this class. The workload in this class hasnít been too strenuous and Iíve enjoyed reading the Boyle stories. Most of them were pretty entertaining and fun to talk about in class. What have I benefitted from most in this class is the amount of research required in the papers we have been assigned. Before this class I still sucked at finding research and actually using it in my papers, but now I feel like Iíve gained a lot more knowledge and can now find sources and utilize them well. The annotated bibliography was really helpful in finding sources for my issue paper, but more than that it helped me actually look for valuable sources and read into them. I used to just use research for quick bits of information to put in my papers when I needed a few extra sentences or a little more information, but now Iím using research to actually learn about the topic Iím writing about. I honestly donít think I benefitted from anything the least in the class because none of the work was not beneficial to me. Maybe I didnít get too much out of having to read the Boyle stories, but I actually enjoyed reading them and talking about the stories in class allowed me more insight on how to look into a story and answer questions and find the true meaning. As for the goals and expectations I set for this class at the beginning of the semester, I believe they have been met. My main expectation was to improve the use of researched information and cited sources in my writing and I think I have done so. I may need to work a little more on how to incorporate the researched information into my own writing and make it one whole paper instead of just pulling information from sources and summarizing it, but Iíll only get better with more writing practice.
