Throughout my English classes in high school I definitely had a mix of easy and hard teachers. Junior year I had a hard teacher and we did a lot of writing. Almost the entire class, any test or quiz was some type of writing assignment. This was the most writing I had done in any English class before. In this class we had to write in a journal everyday with topics that we were given. Almost every other week we were writing an essay or reading a book, which we then wrote a paper about. We also had vocabulary every week. In my past vocabulary quizzes had always been multiple choice or matching, but in this class we wrote the vocabulary, normally had to come up with a story using all the vocabulary terms in the right way. That year this was one of my least favorite classes, writing isnít my strength and I struggled in this class and dreaded going to it. Since we were writing so much, she didnít have a lot of time to meet with us and have conferences to go over essays or papers. It was hard to get time with her to see what I could improve on. That ending with not getting a lot of feedback on what I was writing, and it was hard to improve on. One benefit from having to write in the journal everyday, whether I knew the topic well or not at times I was just able to write and make something up just so I could get the points for filling the page. So whether itís good or bad at times I could ramble about nothing to get the points.
