English class

My favorite English class that I have ever had was my sophomore year in high school. That English class was the most helpful and beneficial to me knowing how to write and focusing on vocabulary. My school had a very poor English system and most of the classes did not teach the kids how to write essays or stories. They tended to focus more on reading stories and the occasional vocabulary. In my junior year English, all we did was read English literature and watched movies. Those are the kind of poor English classes I was talking about. But my English class during my sophomore year was completely different. I had a great teacher who realized that all the other English classes at the school were not teaching us what is important. We still read stories in that class, but she also taught us how to write essays and research papers. We had weekly vocab quizzes that would help us learn new words and broaden our vocabulary. So out of all of the English classes that I have taken, this one was the most beneficial to me. Even though it was early in high school, it helped set me up for the next couple of years when I had to write papers for other classes. The things that I was taught in that class, I will use for the rest of my life and that is why it is so important to have a good, solid English class.
