In previous English classes none of my teachers have been helpful in the fact of helping me improve my writing. Most of my teachers realized that I am a very poor writer, but none of them had ever given me help when I came to them on how exactly to become a better writer. In your 1100 class I found your teaching style very helpful in the sense that you tell us exactly what you want us to write about and how to write it. The most beneficial thing you do is letting us come to you with our rough drafts of our papers and you correct them and go through them with us telling us what you want to see more of and less of. That is the most helpful thing that I have ever experienced in helping myself to become a more efficient writer. Along with the little paragraph you write us with more specific notes on our papers. In high school the english teachers just go through your papers and just give you a grade, never any feedback, or anything beneficial. They just slap a grade on there and expect you to just take it and not help you learn from your mistakes. In all honesty, you have been the most helpful english teacher I have ever had, even better than my writing tutors that obviously did not help me enough. Your style of teaching us how to write and how to write a college level paper is very effective. The paragraphs with specifics on what we need to improve, what you liked, what you did not like, and what we can do to fix the paper and be ready for our next paper for a higher grade, is the most helpful of all the things. It is a lot easier when our teacher tells us what he expects in our papers and how we should go about writing it in our papers. I look forward to being in your class again and furthering my education on how to become a college level writer and get the grades I want on my papers.
