The T.C Boyle's stories have been very interesting and have been a lot more entertaining than most stories that I have read. Most of the time in English class if I am forced to read something it is usually very boring and is a tough read to get through. The good thing about T.C Boyle's is that he does a very good job on describing images and giving interesting stories to give the reader an entertaining experience. The flow of the stories is well paced and the attention to detail is so good that every character is interesting. His stories make me want to find out what is next. If I start to read one I want to finish the story.
My favorite story that I have read is the one with all of the hunters. This was my favorite because the story gave me many characters that I could hate because of what they did to the animals. It was also a sort of justice at the end when the elephant kills the hunters. The characters all had their own history and very interesting personalities. The story had about everything. It had some humor, an interesting cast of characters, and had a good ending.
My least favorite T.C Boyle’s story had to be heart of a Champion. The ending was a confusing ending and I do not know what really happened at the end. I cannot tell if the boy lived or if he was ok and lived to see another day. The only thing I did like about this story is the references to the TV show Lassie. None of the characters had much of a background either. They were just there and the main focus of the story was the dog and the boy. I wish there could have been a little more back story to give the insight into why the boy does what he does.
I have not read any other stories other than the stories that have been assigned. If I am bored and have nothing to do, I would read a story from that book rather than something from another book.
