What I found most challenging for the annotated bibliography was just finding fifteen sources for my topic. I chose childhood obesity so you would think there would be a lot of sources on that but most of the sources, especially non-print ones, just repeated the same information I read thousands of times and most of it was basic knowledge. Finding print sources was not that difficult I just found that most of them were talking about an experiment they did with the children or scientists were trying to relate obesity with other environmental and social factors. However, through reading those experiments I learned more information about it and if society does not change our ways, this generation will end up being the first one in history to be more out of shape and unhealthy than their parents.
The easiest part of the annotated bibliography assignment was actually putting it all together. After I found all of my sources, citing it was not a challenge because you just follow a certain set of rules that tells you how to cite all of the sources. Describing it source was easy as well because all you do was summarize what you read and state the audience the author was trying to reach. In just about all of the print sources, the audience was other researchers or scientist relating to childhood obesity based on the extensive and difficult vocabulary within the source. Then most of the website was meant to be read by parents or guardians on how to deal and help treat their child if they are obese.
Now that I submitted the annotated bibliography, I feel confident on my work. I do not think this was a challenging assignment, just time worthy and tedious. However, since I said it was not difficult I hope I did it right because I was a little confused on how to go about the assignment when we first talked about it in class. After I read about how to do one online and looked at the example on the course website, I think I went about it correctly. So incase I have to do one in the future, I know exactly what I am doing.
