Annotated Bibliography

What I found most challenging about the annotated bibliography was staying focused. Doing the annotations were so repetitive and I would constantly second guess myself and question if I was still following the guidelines. I also had a lot of similar articles and sometimes found it difficult to decipher how one source was really different from another (in terms of the information included in the article). It was difficult to manage my time and not do the stereotypical college kid move and wait until the last minute to get started. Some days I felt really motivated and would get a lot done, while other days I could barely manage to get through one annotation. The easiest part of the annotated bibliography was doing the research. I enjoyed learning about my topic and because technology is fairly new, a lot of research has been done recently on relationships and technology which made it easier for me to find sources 2008 or later. Also, because a lot of the sources I found were scholarly articles, it made it easier to read the abstracts first to see if the article would be useful for my topic or not before reading the entire thing. Now that I have submitted the annotated bibliography, I think they are very useful. Iím glad I picked a topic I am considering for the next paper because I see how helpful annotated bibliographies can be when conducting research. At first I thought it was pointless and was dreading it, but afterwards I was glad I had such an organized list of evaluated sources on my topic. The annotated bibliography will also be helpful for my next paper because I will know if I cited all of my sources correctly and it will be one less thing I will have to worry about for my next paper. Iím not sure if I would ever use that many sources when reviewing sources for research, but I definitely think I will use an annotated bibliography in the future. It seemed like it was going to be challenging and terrifying at first, but in the end it wasnít as bad as I thought.
