Before I begin to describe my English 1200 experience, I would like to say that I did watch the YouTube video; the entire video. It was interesting, and by interesting I mean I have no idea what I just watched. I do believe that I just wasted a minute and thirteen seconds of my life. I did happen to laugh though, thank you for that.
As for my thoughts about English 1200, I can honestly say I enjoyed it. There were days when I hated going and nights that I stayed up late writing a paper that I knew I would not get an ďAĒ on. In my opinion it made me work as hard as a college class should. It is only my second semester and I can already say that I have not had similar feelings in a few of my other classes. Before I signed up for your class, I checked out your ratings on RateMyProfessor.com and although almost all of the reviews said you were a tough grader, I knew it would be exactly what I needed.
I personally know I did not do my best on the annotated bibliography, I think it was the most beneficial to me. From the papers I have written in your class, I have found that I struggle with citing sources. The notes you leave on essays also helped a lot. I take what you say into account and try to apply it to future papers. The in class 10 writes are debatable. I liked having the extra grades and I know it helped me to think critically. On the downside, the writings gave me anxiety and were one of the reasons I occasionally dreaded going to class.
If I could of changed anything it would most likely of been the attendance that went along with the online discussions. I am glad that we didnít have to go to class on Fridays because of it but at the same time it was added pressure. I also would have liked to have less ten minute writings and a few more writings from stories in the book. I actually read a couple of the stories in my free time and I would have loved to write about some of them.
Overall, this has been a great English class and I am glad that I chose to be in your class. I am more confident in my writing. In my previous English class, that I took online in high-school, the teacher did not take it seriously and I bullshitted my way through 3 out of 7 assignments and still came out of the class with an A. I didnít learn anything like Iíve learned in this past semester.
