English 1200 this semester has been pretty tough for me. While I donít like English classes, I am usually strong in them. English 1100 was good, I got a B+. English 1200 on the other hand was tough from the start, weather it was the actual assignments or the in-class reading essays. At this exact moment I have not found anything to be beneficial. Not saying it will not be beneficial in the future, just not at this very day. Iím sure in my upper level classes when I have to write research papers, everything that I have learned in English 1200 will come back to me. I can say that the in-class reading essays were the least beneficial. The stories were for the most part stupid. I only got one 4, the rest threes. I donít see what we were supposed to gain from those besides a bad grade. I would say the 10 minute writes were not beneficial, but I see the point. You wanted to be creative and get our brains working. I didnít enjoy them much either. Coming to class on Fridays was in no way beneficial. We were doing just fine without having Friday classes. My experience this semester has varied from previous English classes because this one was harder. I probably could have did a lot better on the papers, that would have improved my experience in this class a lot. Also it was more freedom as oppose to you assigning class work and a lot of homework. I did like the fact that we could sit in the class and discuss things. It was also entertaining to hear you read the stories from the Boyle book out loud, because reading them to myself was pretty boring. I just reread the prompt for this weekís writing and realized what the YouTube video was about. It was pretty funny but in a corny way. On the bright side we only have two days left in class and the semesters over. Not only the semester but also freshman year. I am happy I made it through.
