I really enjoyed English 1200 this semester. The class was extremely interesting and entertaining. I feel like my writing has improved to a certain extent. I prefer to know exactly what Iím doing wrong versus just having an A stamped on every paper. I wish that I had more time to write my papers and get them revised but every time I planned on doing it, I always had tons of exams and other things due. I enjoyed reading the T.C. Boyle stories and going over them in class. His stories help us understand how to interpret writing and think outside of the box. Heís one of those authors that you expect something out of the ordinary every time that you read one of his stories. It made the reading assignments something to look forward to. I enjoyed how open the class became over the course of the semester. We all got to know each other a little bit better, even if it was just talking about our weekend for the first few minutes of class. It makes the atmosphere a lot more comfortable. Iím also glad we focused more on the papers, and less on grammar. All of my past classed focused on defining nouns, adverbs, and adjectives. I was getting a little of going over the same stuff I learned in elementary school. If you donít know it by now, maybe you shouldnít be in college. Thatís just my opinion. I canít really think of anything that I didnít find beneficial. I liked the fact that the annotated bibliography was so straightforward and that we had an example. But at times I struggled to organize some of the other papers. I felt a lot of pressure to make them perfect, and past English class never really pushed me. At times I felt like the expectations for this class and the papers was very high. But in a way that makes us all better writers. The online discussions weíre a good way for us to express how we feel about what was going on with class. However, at times I felt like it was hard to answer one or two questions with a minimum of three hundred and fifty words. I always feel like Iím rambling and sound like an idiot.
