The topic I am considering for my annotated bibliography is the affect of drunk driving on teenagers. I choose this topic because it is extremely close to my heart, since I had a close friend of mine pass away because of a drunk driver. It was very hard to deal with because I do not understand why teenagers think they can do anything, especially drive after they have been drinking. Everyone’s bodies react differently but everyone’s mind can be altered due to be intoxicated. Since I had a friend that passed away from a drunk driving accident, I have been informed even more on what not to do and how to handle situations with drinking. I was able to talk with my other friends who were in the accident but did not die. It was extremely rough on them, but I went to group therapies with them so I could cope with them and try to understand what was going through their head. The resources that I think that will be the most helpful for finding sourced on the affect of drunk driving on teenagers with the narrow date range are: what are the percentages of drunk drivers that get in accidents/wrecks on their own or with other individuals. I want to find out if the number of drunk driving accidents have grown since children now a days are getting their licenses earlier rather than later. Some other sources that I will look for will be statistics and stories on teenagers in the past have gotten peer pressured into getting into a car with an individual that has been drinking. Some questions I have in mind knowing we are having a library instructional session on Monday would have to be: how can I make sure I am getting the correct and most recent information when I am researching? Am I going to be able to talk with the librarians one on one, to make sure I am going down the right path with all my research? How are we going to make sure we don’t get to comfortable with out researching? So we don’t get forget about the main point of the topic since we want to expand the knowledge of our own self and of others.
