The final topic for my paper is the impact of hybrid cars in the United States. The reason I have chosen this topic is because I’m really into cars and trucks and the topic just came to my interest. I wanted to see how the present hybrid cars will be transformed into completely electric cars. I also was curious about how they will implement the hybrid and electric technology into the design of trucks. I am a huge truck person and drive one and will continue to drive them as long as I can. I felt if I did some research on this topic I could find out the future of the truck going forward with hybrid technology. There have been many types of sources I have found on hybrid cars or hybrid technology in the Untied States. The most popular ones are newspaper articles about the new types of hybrids coming out in the car market. The other ones are scholarly journals and some government documents. The government documents are usually about the plans for the future of hybrid cars and the laws that Obama would like to implement to help keep cars more environmentally friendly. The scholarly journals are the most helpful out of all the sources I have found. They are very detailed and each one is explaining something completely different. Some of the journals I have found are ones about tax incentives on purchasing hybrid vehicles and others about the technology of the hybrid battery. The types of sources that are most relevant to my topic is the up and coming technology for hybrid vehicles. These sources explain how engineers are trying to develop a fully electric car that can run a lot longer than 100 miles on one single charge. Those sources also talk about the new technology that is already out there for these types of vehicles and how they want to make sure the lifespan of these cars and their batteries will sustain the lifetime of a gasoline car. There are a few concerns I have on the annotated bibliography, these are how long are you expecting the annotation on the sources to be? The other concern I have is how can we tell what the audience is in the source we have annotated? I am having trouble trying to figure out if it’s the general public or maybe an engineer type journal on a lot of them.
