The topic I have chosen for my issue paper is Abortion. I have chosen this topic because although I am strictly against abortions, I feel as though the only exceptions should be if a woman was raped or the case of incest. The two opposing sides’ viewpoints for this particular topic are Pro Life and Pro Choice. In other words, are the people against killing the unborn child in the mother’s womb or are they for it. This specific topic is a controversial issue nationwide because not only are there many different aspects of Abortion, but there are also many different viewpoints, and opinions. Both viewpoints on Abortion are very opinionated to whether or not they are right and how the other side is wrong. With this paper I am going to consider both sides and hopefully one will realize how important it is to accept the other side of the spectrum. One of the main points that I will be talking about for the Pro Life side of my topic is how Adoption is a different alternative than abortion because there are people out there who would gladly take the opportunity to raise the child you do not want. Another main point for the Pro Life side is that life begins at conception and abortion is considered murder whether the baby is born or not it is still a human being. For the opposing side (Pro Choice), one of the main points I will be talking about is in the case of rape victims and how much they suffer if they continue with the pregnancy. I will also be addressing how most abortions occur within the first trimester and how a fetus is morally dependent on the mother. This means that it technically cannot live because its health is dependent on the mothers’ health. My topic of Abortion primarily impacts the woman of the fetus or unborn child and also tax payers. Tax payers are primarily impacted because their money assists with poor women’s health services which include abortions. For this paper, I am hoping that I can get a good appreciation for both sides of this topic. I personally accept both sides of Abortion, however with my strong opinion on Pro Life I am hoping that this paper doesn’t come off as bias.
