English 1200

Even though I may have not gotten the grade I wanted in english 1200, I feel like I benefited from the class a lot more than I thought I would. Last semester I got an A in English, so I was hoping for another solid grade, but from the first day of class I knew that probably wasn't going to happen. As nice as it would be, you didn't hand out "A"'s which actually helped me more than it hurt me. I stressed out a lot over the informative paper knowing I had to step it up because I didn't have to try too hard in my English 1100 class. I did end up getting a "B", but then I screwed up my annotated bibliography. That was definitely not my proudest moment. I really appreciated the feedback and willingness to help me get back in the game because I feel like most professors just wouldn't care. I like how we were able to revise our first essay because it gives us a chance to learn how to improve on not just that essay, but ones in the future. Although I don't read much in my spare time, the Boyle stories weren't bad at all. I feel like they're good stories to assign college kids because for me, if I thought for one second it was going to bore me I wouldn't touch it. None of the stories were dreadfully long and were not time consuming at all. I'm actually glad we had reading assignments because last semester
I had none and without being assigned reading I wouldn't do it. Getting detailed feedback on our essays was extremely helpful and appreciated because it will help me in the long run. This class reminded me a lot of my creative writing class I took my senior year. He was an awesome teacher and didn't take any crap from us. It was easily one of the most challenging classes I took in high school, but I got a lot out of it. We did a lot of free writes like we did this semester, and had to write stories with given characters or scenarios which we also did a few times. Overall I did get a lot out of this class and I would be the first to tell you if I didn't. I feel like I'm a stronger student, not just in writing, but as a whole because of my mistakes and achievements in this class.
