I like the video because even though his argument for having an eleven isn't strong, I understand what he's trying to say by having that extra “oomf”. I have enjoyed English 1200 this semester for many reasons. This class is unlike any class I have ever been in before. We will start talking about the most random stuff out of no where and have a little debate on it. I liked reading the T.C. Boyle stories and talking about them in class. I always understand the story so much better when we meet in class and our professor reads it to us and explains it. I like doing the in-class reading essays because it's an easy A if you just read the story thoroughly and somewhat understand it. You definitely can't go in there on an in-class reading essay day and expect to do good when you didn't even read the story. I learned a lot about writing flawless research papers in this class. The professor taught us the paper structure and how to do it several times before the paper was actually due. This helped me because it tends to stick in my head better when I hear it over and over again. One thing I didn't like about the class was how often we had it. It got switched to three days a week about halfway through the semester when I thought just Mondays and Wednesdays was plenty of class time for all that we did. The only thing we actually learned about during class that was relevant to English was writing papers and he couldn't teach us but so much about that. Another thing I didn't like was that there were only three papers we had to do all semester. Each paper factors into our grade and is a big part of it. I hate that there were only three because if I mess up on one I can't do but so much to bring my grade back up. If there were about five papers then I would have room for error. This class has varied from previous English classes in many ways. In English classes in high school we would usually talk about English related topics the whole time. My teachers never had the sarcasm and comedian like personality my current one does. They were strict and stayed on topic for the most part. When I came to college I wasn't used to a really social classroom setting. At my high school we just sat and listened to the teacher without saying a word most of the time. Therefore, the social aspect of the class is something I didn't have in previous English classes. To sum everything up, I have enjoyed taking this class and have learned from it in many different ways.
