I agree with you on the vocabulary. I have been looking into Apps for vocabulary and have found 2 that I really like; one is by Monkey in the Middle and the other one is my McGraw Hill Learning and it is called Bluster. I also liked the vocabulary word mapping-having the kids make connections between words I think is so important. Like I was telling the girls in my group, if you stop and think about all the different ways that we use to refer to numbers being more than or less than in math (add,+,more than,increase, greater,larger,bigger,one more)(subtract,-,minus,take away,less than,smaller,least) then put yourself in the shoes of a person with a language deficit of any kind whether it be hearing difficulty, 1st generation LL, 2nd generation LL--whatever the case it can be very confusing and frustrating for them. Having a visual that provides them a means to amke a connection would be so beneficial

    The biggest thing that spoke to me as I read the reading for today was that vocabulary is essential. I have always known that but I don't think that I put as much emphasis on it as I need to.... more
