Hey Marcia. I can relate to you practicing on your children. I did my student teaching in First Grade the same time that my sister was in First Grade, and I was living at home. I used to come home and ask her what she learned and questions about it everyday. Don't worry about finding a job, getting your master will definitely help. :)
