I also thought that Words Their Way was similar to ASU clinic. However I like the way the Clinic taught us to assess their independence and perform spell checks. I think I put too much pressure on my students when I am asking them to work with 15 words and spell them all correctly. Spelling City has a variety of activities. There are unscramble the word, word searches and etc. However you perform these activities with your spelling words. Before you start any activity you can enter spelling words up to like 25. So my students enter their words and then play games. I feel that it is fun for them but I am unsure if it is really teaching the spelling pattern. I have mixed feelings about the site.
