A Personal narrative was based on my experience and thoughts whereas a Boyle paper was based on Boyle’s stories. It’s about the Boyle not about me. Because experience was personal, I couldn’t help me be too subjective. On the other hand, I saw the Boyle with an objective and critical view. The events, I wrote on personal narrative, were not organized in myself yet, so it was harder to put those in words. However on a Boyle paper, what I needed to do was to find meanings between sentences. Also two stories were really direct, I could easily find Boyle’s thoughts. So I would say a Boyle paper was lot easier than a personal narrative.

At this time, I think I wrote the paper pretty well. I definitely put lot more time and effort. I properly assorted paragraphs by each characters, by a structure- introduction, body and conclusion, by different sub-topics- compare similarities, compare differences, developing story and so on. I also followed the three part formula- observation / quotation / explanation that the professor gave. I think I convey my thesis- Stories tell readers Boyle thinks strongly about a way of pursing peace of mind- clearly. Because each of my character analysis specifies how they pursue the peace of mind and how they think about the world or other person’s way of pursuing. In conclusion, I organized each characters’ ways so that readers could also organize what they have just read. According to helper in the Bate writing center, I wrote the conclusion very well.

Weaknesses of my paper is grammar and repetitive usage of same words, sentence structures. As the professor pointed out on a feedback, I keep making grammar mistakes. I corrected my grammar mistakes after I got the feedback, looking through from beginning of the writing to the end, but I am still not sure I corrected all of my mistakes and corrected those right. Due to lack of vocabulary, I used some words and sentence structures repeatedly. I think that-repetitive usage makes readers get boring with my writing, so I will surely work on that.
