Writing the T.C. Boyle paper differed in many ways from writing the personal narrative paper. The personal narrative paper was more personal and I knew exactly what I wanted to write about and I also knew how to organize that paper. The T.C. Boyle paper was not personal and I actually had to think about what topic I was going to choose to write about. Also the organization for the T.C. Boyle paper was a lot different from the personal narrative paper because I have never written an in depth literary analysis. I definitely thought the personal narrative was easier. The words seemed to just fall right onto the page effortlessly and in the perfect order. I really enjoyed the personal narrative because it was a chance for me to tell a story that played a big role in the person I have become. I had a couple strengths for the T.C. Boyle paper. One of those was giving a description of the stories to tell what was important to proving my thesis for my paper. Another strength was being able to find quotes to use to help prove my thesis. I would definitely say I had more weaknesses than strengths while writing the T.C. Boyle paper. First, even though I tried to keep it organized, my Boyle paper was far from organized. I wish I would have read more stories so I could have picked a stronger topic to write about rather than the one I chose. I realized by reading the online discussions from other students, that most of the students in my class chose the same exact topic. I am sure their papers were all very well written but I wanted to pick something that was going to be a little different. All in all, even though the Boyle paper was more difficult to write, I am looking forward to see the comments you have so that the next time I am faced with a literary analysis I can do as well as I did, if not better than I did when I wrote the personal narrative paper.
