It was unlike any other English class I have had. In almost every other English class that I have had I had work that seemed very repetitive, they would have grammar and sentence structure exercises. This class was different. I got the information that was the most relevant to what we need to learn and not much extra and pointless exercises. I personally learn better when the teacher is more direct when addressing the information. Teaching this way made it easy to understand what was being assigned as well as what was being taught. Every class I learned something different which really made sense to me. I liked learning something different because it gave me a reason to come to class in the morning on a Friday. The stuff that was being taught was relevant to the papers that we were writing very well. For example I was very confused when we started off reading the stories from the Boyle book, and I did not understand all of the weird stories. Then when we were assigned the Boyle paper it made sense. All of the papers that we wrote comprised of a wide variety of topics. The same topics that I would have seen in my other classes of the past, but provided in a much easier and clearer way to understand for me. Another great part about the class was being able to go to office hours and receive feedback on work. This made it easy for me to receive help on the things that I had questions on, whether it be for a paper revision or a story that we had to read. I think that I have benefited the most from the advice that I received in office hours. Again they were straight forward and to point. I think that the second most thing that I have benefitted from is the things that were discussed in class. They were talked about in a discussion matter so that it was easier to pick up. Another thing that was made this class stand out beside any other English class was that I have not liked the subjects that I have had to write about as much as I have in this class. For some reason I have always found a wide to enjoy writing about them. 387
