The quote that I chose to identify with was "The which does not kill us makes us stronger." -Friedrich Nietszche. I feel that in many ways this is a very easily relatable quote, and can be connected too by many. However for me I really do feel that it provides great meaning to my personal life. Many times when we experience things in life that bring us below the point of breaking, we think that it is best to simply give up. Sometimes things can get so horrible that tomorrow might be something one would not wish to see. Although when I have reached these points of being so low, all I could think about was the fact that the only place to go from there is up.
My father growing up would always tell me that everything is a learning experience. When something would bring me down, I would always know not to make the same mistake, and that I would be on my way back up soon. Having this knowledge has always helped me get over situations especially in high school. Whether it was dealing with a sports tryout or finding a date to the prom, the stress is only enough to push you harder to strive for what you want. It may seem hard and it may seem impossible, but it is simply a lesson to help us learn and grow and excel in this world.
Sometimes it can be the little things that seem the hardest and most stressful at the time. A simple sports tryout can be the most difficult time you have ever experienced, I know this from experience. When I was trying out for the lacrosse team my freshman year, I felt intimidation unlike any other. All the older kids and coaches were serious about these practices and I was pushed to limits I didn’t know I could hit. When I would get sick during practice or when I would go home sore as can be, I felt like I was not ready for what I was getting into. Soon after the pain came the glory and I felt amazing passing these boundaries I had put up for myself. The hurt made me stronger and I am thankful that it did.
