I really have not written many of papers in my student career. The ones I have done in my previous English classes were research papers, a persuasive paper, and reflective papers on like a specific book we may have read. I have done small essays on poem analysis but nothing like a huge paper or we would just typically do in class discussion because my teachers were too lazy to assign us papers because they did not want to have to grade them all. I did enjoy my persuasive paper because it I felt like I finally learned how to write a decent paper because our goal was to try and get the reader to buy into what our opinion was and we also had to do a lot of research to back up our opinions and my teacher let us choose our own topic. My senior year my teacher made us do a project on a poem we picked from Canterbury Tales and do pick like a modern song we thought that related to the poem and explain how we thought they were similar. It was probably one of the most stupid projects I have ever done. It did not really teach me on how to interpret poems. I did take a class called Shakespeare that really did help me a lot because we would read different books by him and my teacher would really go into depth with it and forced us too and it helped me pick up on key words and understand how to read more poem based literature. He also made us act it out in front of the class and I thought that also forced me to try and understand because then you can picture what is happening in the book more. For the TC Boyle paper I am little confused on how to start off my paper and what my introduction is suppose to look like. Also what tense is it suppose to be in and how should I organize it. Do we include all of the stories the have read? What are you looking for in our writing in this papers?
