For some reason, I had a really difficult time writing this paper compared to the personal narrative, probably because the Boyle paper needed to be based on fact, while the personal narrative was basically just about my life, which was fairly easy to write about. In the Boyle paper, I had to cite information from the T. C. Boyle book while in the personal narrative I basically just rambled about events that have shaped who I am. Obviously I did not do extremely well on the personal narrative, however I can definitely see the difference in writing techniques and styles that were necessary in each paper. I felt that the literary analysis paper was more structured (but maybe that is simply because you gave us an outline of what each paragraph needed to be about and where to put them).

I honestly do not know my strengths in writing the Boyle paper, because Iím scared that I think I did really well on certain aspects of the paper and then end up actually doing everything completely wrong. I am hoping that I did fairly well in using a lot of quotes from the stories, and I also hope that I cited them correctly because that was one thing I forgot to ask you about when I came in for our essay conference meeting thing last friday. I know for a fact that it is long enough, so I guess that can count as a strength as well. As far as weaknesses go, I found it very difficult to find the motivation to sit down and write the Boyle paper with enough time left until the deadline for multiple revisions and corrections, etc. whereas with the personal narrative, I wrote my first draft weeks in advance, and then re-wrote and revised even before I brought you a draft to look over.

As you can probably tell, I am not the best writer. Honestly I am just not good at English classes in general (reading, writing, etc.) but I have been trying very hard to become a better writer because I know that that is a vital skill to have for the future.

BOO! How did writing your Boyle paper differ from writing your personal narrative? Which one did you find easier to write? What do you feel were the strengths of your Boyle paper? Weaknesses?
