I would say I have had a decent amount of experience writing literary analysis papers. In high school I wrote numerous papers in response to poems, short stories, and novels. The most writing intensive course I have taken before your class was AP Language my junior year of high school. In my AP Language class we read and analyzed a lot of short stories and poems by famous transcendental authors such as Henry David Thoreau, Walt Whitman, Emily Dickenson, and Thomas Treadwell Stone. Though I do not remember how well I was able to analyze the works of these transcendental authors back in high school, I know my analytical responses were good enough for me to pass AP Language.
From my above stated credentials involving literary analysis you may expect that the T.C. Boyle paper would be a piece of cake for me, but unfortunately I do not know how well I can analyze and express T.C. Boyle's messages on paper. I mean I hope that my analysis of the T.C. Boyle stories I choose to write about satisfy the assignment, but I am worried about coming up with adequately detailed comparisons between two of Boyle's stories. T.C. Boyle is a very intelligent author with many complex pieces of literature on his resume. In preparation for our T.C. Boyle essay I am worried about how my interpretation of the overall message his stories express will confuse me to the extent of writing numerous drafts and changing my selected stories. I believe I will reach a point of satisfaction to the assignment, but I don't know how soon that will. When I write papers I feel that I overthink things too much and just make things harder on myself. With that being said I plan to get a jump start on this assignment prior to the start of spring break. By starting this paper early I hope that it will give me enough time to appropriately analyze the T.C. Boyle stories I choose and come up with strong points of similarity between the two stories. And I do not have any questions pertaining to the assignment as of today.
