Out of all of the Boyle stories, my favorites are The Human Fly and Carnal Knowledge. When reading The Human Fly, it was easy to read and follow along. It was more interesting then all of the others and kept me wanting to read more. Rather than a drug out story, I felt like this short story had so many events that occurred throughout the whole reading. From Zoltan standing out of buildings for two weeks to jumping over 26 trucks, each stunt was dangerous and thrilling. Even though he unfortunately died at the end, it was really upsetting how his agent was not mourning over his dead as much as his uncle or anyone else. Carnal Knowledge stood out to me also because of how ironic the ending was. Even though it is in the love section and lust pertained to the story, there was such a different ending then what I thought was going to happen. As much as Alena wanted to help animals and save them, in the end she did just the opposite. The story that I disliked the most would be Modern Love. Even though it was about going through the oddest things for one another, I just did not get the point of the story. I hoped throughout the story she would be a little calmer and come back to reality. It just proves that guys will honestly go through whatever to get laid and get with a women no matter how crazy she actually is. I was a little weird out by how germaphobic she was about everything. The ending was upsetting and overall I did not enjoy reading it. Little Fur People was something like I have never read before. I enjoyed it and it got a few laughs out of me. The whole idea of caring about squirrels more than family is just outrageous to me. I found the story very entertaining because it was based around 32 squirrels and not the family itself. Even though it was unusual, I felt bad that she was widowed and was not very close to her family.
