My openness is probably the only thing I am proud of the most about my personal narrative. The detail, in depth explanation and specific moments that I gave made me proud because it was like getting something off my chest that no one knows about and like a breath of fresh air. There are a lot of thing I am apprehensive about however. Iím apprehensive that I did not do exactly what the assignment was asking. I feel as if I went off topic too much or did not make the moment that impacted my life really clear, like I was just writing in my diary instead of sticking to a writing structure. I am also apprehensive about my life story being in the hands of someone I do not know. The thing I am most worried about, of course, is getting a bad grade. I am not that good of a writer anyway and the personal narrative was my first college paper so naturally, I am a little nervous. I also am worried that I accidently used present or future tense a lot without catching it when I proofread my paper. I have a bad habit of just letting the words flow as I type without thinking about what the assignment is actually asking for. My logic behind writing personal papers like this is ďjust pretend your English teacher is your therapistĒ so I am worried I got a little carried away with that and gave too much information.
I did not really have a set process when writing this paper, honestly. Some friends and I pulled an all-nighter one night so at six in the morning I just came to the library and started typing. I wrote like two and a half pages in fifteen minutes. It was not very good because I was running on nothing but energy drinks, but it was a good start. I then waited until the weekend and finished the last half of my paper while waiting for my laundry to finish. When I got four pages, I read over it a couple of times just to make some changes to what I wrote so I could fix spelling and grammatical errors, change present or future tense to past, and etcetera.
