I do not think we are going to be required to collect quantitative data for teacher action research. I believe our focus will be gathering rich, deep data that details the events in our classroom and the perspectives of our students as they relate to our research. I took a course on qualitative research this summer and the studies I read were typically lengthy (and wordy), very descriptive, yet factual, and focused on the social context of the research setting.
