I agree with you Melissa that it is very easy to get caught up in all the things we have to do in order to be a teacher. But the number one thing we need to be doing is perfecting our teaching to match our students. I've already sat in meetings this year where I was told to just focus on my "bubble" kids and not my low babies because they weren't going to pass the EOGs anyways. This is disheartening to me because they are getting even farther behind with this kind of attitude. If teachers could do some of the simple things we are learning in our classes to improve their teaching we could help more students. The big thread that I have seen on here is video or recording ourselves to see what is really going on while we are teaching! I think this is a great method of collecting data. Maybe the best one to see how we teach kids and if we are getting on their level everyday.
