Response to Jennie

Throughout my Masters program I have often wondered how what I was learning through the clinical model could be applied in a regular classroom setting. By one-to-one we are referring to Morris' plans as presented in The Howard Street Tutoring Manual -- where instruction happens 1 tutor to 1 student ratio. In a classroom this is just not feasible with large groups, BUT I believe in the power of his clinical model and wanted to find a way to transfer it into a classroom holistically. I do have a full-time Teacher Assistant, but for reading groups she directs two small groups with the other 12 students who are on or above grade level in reading. She is trained in Early Steps, but I need her to instruct the kids I am not worried about so that I can focus on my struggling readers for small groups.
