One of the biggest things I learned during this process is how students learn vocabulary best, which is for the teacher to model, model, model. I also learned some beneficial ways to explicitly teach vocabulary and saw positive effects. I would like to continue using the strategies we used during our study. It was great to really look at the data to see if my students are growing. As much as I liked to look at the observational data, I am a numbers person so it was great to see on a graph the difference our vocabulary instruction was making.

I plan on sharing with my grade level and principal the results to our project and I also want to share some of the other studies with my principal and current reading specialist because I thought they were very effective as well.

I would like to try a teacher inquiry plan each year to better my teaching skills for myself and my students. I think to get a better sampling it would be good to have more teachers on my grade level try the same study in their classrooms so we can compare the data.
