Boyle Paper

For my Boyle paper, I have chosen to do compare and contrast. Writing a paper is much more manageable to do when you have a lot of details and examples to write about. If I were to choose theme, my paper would not be as exceptional. I have not quite figured out what stories I am going to choose, however my top choice is Modern Love and Little Fur People because these stories are really interesting and different. I chose these two stories because they contrast more than they compare. I like how both of the ladies are weird and a little insane. Both of these stories also come from the love section, which I hate, but they will make a good paper. Based on both of the stories themes, I believe that Boyle wrote both stories to prove how females are nuts. In Modern Love he gives us so many details on how Breda is neurotic, however he does not specifically tell us that she is crazy. Boyle lets us know that she is crazy by giving us many descriptions of her actions. For example, when she brought up the condom situation. In Little Fur People he tells us about how she is obsessed with squirrels. Boyle even starts off by saying, “They wanted to take her babies away”. At first I thought Boyle was actually talking about real humans. The way she did not even care about her daughter as much as she cared about the animals was crazy. She knew more about what was going on with the squirrels than what was going on with her daughter. Boyle’s opinions are pretty loud. He is aware that both females have a problem that is not that common among other people. One is obsessed about germs and the other is obsessed about squirrels. Boyle probably got all of his ideas by looking at our own society. He is so smart on the way he writes his stories by making you want to keep reading until you actually finish. He speaks his opinions loud enough without actually voicing them. Boyle is brilliant.
