The process for writing my argument paper was pretty horrific, hints the reason it is handed in so late. I felt like I picked a good topic but once I got in to the research it became increasingly difficult to write. Gun control has so many different sides and each side has good points. I tried to research my argument but it was difficult to find valid sources for my argument. Many of the articles were just random people posting on their blogs and ranting without any real information for me to use. When I looked up my topic on the ECU library website almost every article was arguing against my topic which didn't help me. Over the weekend I decided to switch my argument for the paper to saying that the United States needed to have stricter gun laws and it helped a bit but not as much as I was hoping it would. I found it difficult to make the information and my words flow the way I wanted them to. I have never struggled so much with a paper in my life. However my paper does have some strong points. After switching my argument I tried to research the stats behind the argument as well as articles that have been published. I found that using the stats gave me a better and more solid argument, more so than anything else. My main concern with my paper is the fact that I just cant seem to write it, no matter how many articles I read I just can not find the information I am looking for or anything I could use. I also stressed out a lot over the citations and making sure I used them properly and everything was cited that needed to be. I feel that the articles I finally decided on were all pretty good and gave me a good amount of information even though it wasn't exactly what I wanted. I feel that the paper has a good solid argument but the paper as a whole is without a doubt the worst I have ever written.
