Quote to identify myself

The quote that I chose to identify myself with is “Two road diverged in a wood, and I, I took the road less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” How this applies to me may be different than how it does with others. It may involve whether you live a simple routine lifestyle or you go out and live adventurously to be different. For myself, the road less traveled is my faith. What I mean by this is that I am a Christian and believe that Jesus Christ is my Lord and savior and in no way intend to bash anyone and respect if they have other beliefs. Though finding Christians is pretty common, it is still the road less traveled due to the rise of other religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Agnosticism, and Atheism. Even in the Bible in the book of Matthew it mentions how the gate to Heaven is narrow implying how it is the road less traveled. With this rise there has been a drop in finding Christians as well as others believing that being a Christian means that you have to follow this rulebook or you are classified as a sinner. Growing up in my life I use to think that way. I use to hate church because I would think of it as a place where I would go and see everyone judge me and then be told that if I do one thing wrong I am a sinner and deserve to go to Hell. I can easily see why people are turned off from Christianity and it is becoming the road less traveled. When I was 17 though I began to start getting back involved in church and soon I began to realize the things that really mattered. That being a Christian was not all about going to church on Sunday’s or being able to pray the best prayers, or having the best voice while singing praise and worship. It was about being there for others whenever they needed you the most, or giving up of your own time to be there for another, or just growing into deeper relationships with the people around you rather than growing hate towards them. It’s all about getting to know who I believe to be the creator of the universe as well as ourselves and learning to be more and more like him. Once I realized this it changed who I am completely. I use to be disengaged with others, despise anyone who ever said anything bad about me, and just be in a phase of slight depression. Now after becoming a Christian I have more joy, peace, and am more involved with others than I have ever been. Also this doesn’t mean that it has been rainbows and sunshine for me but I know that I will get through it all and I love who I am now and I plan to never go back to who I was.
