After finishing my paper I experienced a lot of emotions that I didn’t know I still had from the event that I wrote about. I really enjoyed writing this narrative because the event I wrote about has shaped the woman that I am today. I rarely share that experience with people that I don’t know personally so it was quite liberating to get it all out on the page. I felt that I did relatively well with this personal narrative. I personally think that I started out VERY strong. My introduction and first few body paragraphs felt strong. I used as much detail as I could recall and my sentences and paragraphs flowed together nicely. I felt like I held the reader’s attention and kept them interested. I am slightly nervous that towards the end of the paper that I started to lose momentum. While I was writing I had to take a few breaks because I was overcome with emotion a few times and ended up crying. Therefore, towards the end of my paper I was slightly drained from the emotional toll that this paper took on me. When I sat down to plan for my paper I had a few specific things that I felt I needed to mention and I think I did a good job incorporating those things into the story. When I read my narrative back I am, overall, pretty proud. I don’t know how it will stand up to the grading scale but I am pretty satisfied with it. I tried to do the bubble diagram for planning but I found that there weren’t very many big things that I felt I needed to put in the bubbles. I had a hard time doing the pre-writing part of the paper. But when I began to type the words just started to fly onto the page. I was very surprised at how easy it was for me to reach the four page minimum. I felt that I could have continued to add to my paper if I needed to. I enjoyed this writing experience and look forward to the next paper.
