I liked the link to real life experiences with the snow. First you took the kids out to see the snow, then brought that experience back to write about. This gives the children more ideas to add and makes it relevant to them.

I also like how you took the one word and modeled saying it and writing it into a complete, simple sentence. This seems very appropriate for these students.
