Great minds think alike, I love your choice of book! I believe that it is a book that will interest many students. You were very detailed while describing Caleb's characteristics and setting in the classroom. The substitute would probably like to know what time of the day this lesson would take place, so that is something I would add. Also, if this lesson plan is only for Caleb, include what the rest of the class should be doing at this time. You were specific in your instruction during the beginning of the lesson, great job! Something I would include is providing the substitute with opening questions and statements to introduce the book to the student before starting the lesson. I would also include examples of the discussion and questions you would like the substitute to participate in while reading the book with the student. I love how you tied the instructional goal back into the wrap up! That was a great way to gauge Caleb's understanding after the lesson. You guys did a really great job!

This lesson plan is great! It is very simple and straight to the point. It would be very easy for a substitute teacher to follow and perform. One thing that I really like is the behavior chart that... more

It's so funny that y'all chose to “If You Give a Moose a Muffin” by Laura Joffe Numeroff. We chose to do "If you give a Mouse a Cookie". Anyway, I think this a simple lesson plan that gives a lot of... more
