Give a Glow: There were a few things I liked about your lesson plan. I liked how you wanted to lesson to focus on teaching idioms. We learned that idioms are hard for students with ASD to understand, so having a lesson that focuses on that is a good idea, in my opinion. I also liked how you thought to give the students with ASD an audio book along with their hard copy of the book. I think if used together this could be effective. I donít think one should substitute the other. I liked how detailed your lesson was. It would make it easy for someone to follow along and do with the students.

Give a Grow: I agree with my group member about thinking this book may be too difficult for an emergent reader. Even with the audio book to assist, there would probably be too much information and story happening, since it is a chapter book, for the student to get much from the book. You said that these are third graders. I am not sure if there would be emergent readers in a general education classroom at this grade. If there was, is there another, emergent level, book you could use to teach idioms and prediction? I think that the content you are trying to teach with this lesson is important and appropriate for the grade level, I am just not sure about the level of the book for an emergent reader.
