Re: ASU Seniors Lesson Plan

I love yall's lesson plan; it is very easy to understand and very practical for the classroom. I really like how it is design to help John makes strides that will impact both in and out of school situations.
This type of plan is great for not only teaching students practical, in-class skills, but skills that will help them outside of school as well. It is very important to be able to identify relationships in any situation whether it be problem-solution, cause-effect, etc. In literacy building lessons we analyze these relationships as they pertain to characters in the story, key plot points, etc. and it can be very easy to miss some of these if we do not have a set system in place for understanding them.
I also really like how yall used "Cat in the Hat" to pull this lesson together. I think Dr. Seuss is wonderful in any school setting for younger students because there are many lessons that can be planned about the unique structure of his books. Using the data chart to show progress is an excellent way to be able to see which students truly are learning the procedure.
