I can't even begin to tell you how much we rely on assessments within the social work field. Assessments are our key to finding out the information we need in order to advocate for, help, counsel, or guide clients. We also rely on service plans as well. Basically we use assessments in order to establish a baseline for a client. Once we understand where a client stands, we can go from there to help them. Without assessments, we would not be able to help as effectively as we do. Hope that answers your question.
