I have never worked with a student with ASD before but I have seen teachers use schedules on students desks. I think is really neat that it gives the student choices of what they can do when they complete their work. Do you know what kind of things the teacher would put on the list? Is it something they would enjoy doing hen they finished or would it just be completing more work?

I'm curious about the types of work systems you use in your classroom because I have only seen it done in the one way. How do your work systems differ from student to student? Do they just have... more

The work system that my teacher used had choices like silent reading, computer time, go for a walk around the track (this was something that calmed him down). He could only concentrate for so long... more

Jordan, the schedule is a visual support that the students use to help them transition throughout their day. This type of schedule is especially helpful for students who have difficulties with... more

I have been in classrooms where a similar system was in place. I interned in a room where the student saw exactly what his day would be like from start to finish. He was old enough to tell time so... more
