I too feel that the lecture gave me a clear understanding of where my students should be receiving instruction. As I listened to the lecture and the breakdown of emergent verses conventional, I knew right away which students in my classroom fell into each category. As a teacher, this is very empowering for me. Unfortunately, (not really ) school is out for the year, but I feel equipped to hit the ground running with my students next year! I also know that I will be making many changes in the way things are done in my classroom to ensure that my students are getting the proper support.
