I would think of this as a pre-lesson from what I am understanding. I didn't read this article and would love to hear more about this. I am definitely going to download it for future reference. I think though, that priming is a great way to transition to something else. I read, somewhere, that about 5 minutes before subject change in the class room, the TA would take the ASD student who struggled with change out for a walk in the hall, or for a brief visit to talk to the librarian, just something to make the transition easier.

      Thank you for this response! I think that front loading is an excellent way to make sure that students have a solid foundation on which to approach the learning targets!
