High and Low student

From what I have read, and understand, it is best to pair a low performing student with a high performing student because the high performing student (HP) can assist in helping the lower performing student (LP). Whew! That was a mouth-full. During the reading, the HP student can ask the LP student questions about what they are reading. I guess during a group setting where the teacher is going to be highly involved, LP students could be paired together. The teacher will be by their side guiding them in the right direction.

Sarah, I completely agree with you! I really appreciate what you said about making sure one student does not dominate the activity. I have found that when partnering students of a high ability level... more
