This was a thought I had to.

I know a young boy back home who has issues with communication. His family and friends know all of his signs so he can communicate well enough with them, but in novel settings he could benefit from an AAC device. I think it is important to have a sense of community with your own signs and communication (I know this boy would not want to use a device because he likes being able to use his owns signs), but novel settings are inevitable and it wouldn't be such a bad idea to have training on how to communicate effectively in those types of situations.
