How was he reading if he was not decoding? Was he reading from memory or something? I did not get a chance to read about children on the spectrum hitting a plateau in regards to growth in reading, but I really hope the number of those that do plateau is small. Is there a way to prevent this?

        This is a good point. It seems like Jack is on the track towards becoming a high level reader. This knowledge base of reading may prevent him from reaching a plateau in upper elementary years.
