I also think that incorporating the pictures into the book was very helpful in supporting his reading ability. I think that without these pictures included, Jack may not have been able to read the book as successfully. These pictures supported his reading of unknown or unfamiliar words that were not repeated on each page of the book. Since he was not really decoding and reading each word, he most likely would not have been able to read the unfamiliar words without pictures.

    I agree. Jack was very high functioning in his reading comprehension. I think it had a lot to do with the pictures that were incorporated with the text. I'm interested to know if the pictures weren't ... more
