Motivation & Social Context
Wed Jun 17, 2015 11:07

I would like to point out motivation and social context in what you have written. Students will only be able to show they learn something by doing. If they are not motivated or in the right social context then they are not going to write for me or if they do, it might not be their best work. We need to make sure that as teachers we provide the best settings for students whether it be quite or soft back ground music and we also need to do our best to motivate our students, such as publishing their work or letting them write about something that interest them.

That was one thing that I really enjoyed about E-pal. It seemed like the students really enjoyed getting to write back and fourth with a college student who wanted to talk and ask them questions. As... more

Great point! We need to observe the environment for our students and know how it affects them and their performance. Sometimes they may need that soft background music and other times they may need... more
