I think its great that you recognize that all students are different and learn different ways. I think this is especially true with autistic students and especially if you are wanting to work in the younger grades. I can't imagine how difficult Kindergarten would be for working with students showing signs of autism. How to keep a 5 year old interested in the alphabet is hard not to mention when you throw in characteristics of autism as well.
